The Spain-based team will contest its third season of the Spanish F4 championship entering a three-car line-up of young talents with a brilliant future ahead: Rafael Villanueva, Nazim Azman and Benjamin Goethe. The 2018 season kicks off at Motorland Aragón next weekend
Madrid, 15 May 2018. Drivex is ready to get the 2018 F4 Spain championship season started. The F4-based series provides the opportunity to take the first step from karting into singleseaters and therefore Drivex will contest its third consecutive season in the championship as the team’s DNA is to help young drivers to climb rungs up the motorsport ladder. Three new names will join Drivex for the season ahead: Spaniard Rafael Villanueva, Malaysian Nazim Azman and Briton Benjamin Goethe.
Villanueva was previously announced last February. The young Spanish gun is a key name on the go-karts scene of Cadet and Junior categories. Villanueva will make his debut in the F4 Spain while also competing in karting with Birel ART Spain. That’s why he will race under the Birel ART Spain Drivex F4 Team banner throughout the season.
Azman already has experience in Formula 4 as he competed in the Spanish F4 Championship last year – with promising results- and in the F4 South East Asia. The Malaysian driver was a regular podium contender in the Asian championship as claimed two wins and seven podiums there.
Finally Goethe is also another driver making his first step into singleseater racing. His racing experience includes karting but he already carried out numerous testing sessions at the wheel of the Drivex-run Tatuus cars and starts well prepared into the F4 Spain.
Just like in previous seasons, there will be three races scheduled per weekend with a season consisting of six rounds. Saturday’s first race will take place at 16.20 (CET) with two other races taking place on Sunday at 12.20 (CET) and 15.10 (CET).
